There is always a place where I am starting from zero.
It reminds me that we give our bodies identification, we give our sexuality a shape and we give our identity meaning. It reminds me that it is constantly re-forming and ever expanding. It reminds me, most importantly, that there is always more to learn.

My thinking comes from a Hawaiian, Native American, Zen Buddhist and scientific perspective. I put less investment in belief, and more in the responsibility of understanding different cultural worldviews and awareness. The fabric of our thoughts and intentions interact with others, creating the framework for the way we interpret the world and consequently the physical world we live in. My work deliberately spans the human experience through the visual, the tactile, the emotional, the intellectual, the sonic the humorous and the delicate.

This practice assumes many disciplines: Painting, drawing, sculpture, sound, fiber and installation. The less I question the need to make a particular object, or how it will fit into my practice, the more it opens new avenues of thinking.
